TC10K Registration Opens and Welcomes Online Coaching
SAANICH – For the first time ever, the TC 10K, operated by Victoria’s RunSport Society, is joining other races across North America by adding online coaching to their event so that participants can train and prepare from any location in the world.
Runcoach has partnered with the TC 10K, one of Canada’s largest 10K events, for 2020 to provide a free personalized online experience. From walkers to elite runners, participants will be able to cater their programming from now till April 26th, 2020.
“We are very excited to partner with the TC 10K and bring our adjustable training with coaching support to all race participants,” said Tom McGlynn, Founder of Runcoach. “I’ve always admired the deep legacy of distance running in Canada and the TC10K is organized by experienced runners for a diverse participant community. We will help the race day experience be even more enjoyable with a personalized program, enjoyable rewards and a terrific service.”
The online coaching program will be in addition to the popular TC 10K training clinics which open in January.
“We had many participants ask if there was an online program as our clinic locations are mostly based in the Victoria area,” said TC 10K Race Director Trish Fougner. “This is a perfect opportunity to capture those people who are not able to get to a training clinic but would like some professional guidance in their training and the bonus is that it’s free.”
The Runcoach training program provides the personalization of a world-class coach at your fingertips and this year Runcoach has developed a special program just for the TC 10K. The Runcoach digital platform creates a personal plan, adjusts the program as the participant progresses, and offers great rewards (from Garmin and others) as each participant moves through their training journey. On average Runcoach participants improve their finishing times by 7%.
There will also be the option to upgrade to Runcoach Gold for an additional $20 through race day. This includes coaching support from certified coaches who will answer your questions about workouts, injury prevention, strength and flexibility work, nutrition and anything else related to training or race day. With this upgrade, participants will be saving $100 off the regular Runcoach Gold price.
“We are thrilled to be adding some more value for our participants in the 2020 TC 10K,” said Chris Siver, President of RunSport Society. “We have been reaching out to other North American events and researching best practices to find ways to make the TC 10K even better. We have no doubt that 2020 will be one of those years to remember.”
The TC 10K is a RunSport initiative. RunSport is a not-for-profit society that presents athletic events and supports running in the Greater Victoria area.
